The Tesla Fleet API provides granular, real-time charging data including exact energy delivered in kilowatt-hours, precise GPS coordinates during each session, and session timestamps. This data comes directly from your Tesla's Battery Management System, which acts as an accredited sub-meter, delivering tamper-proof energy measurements that are audit-ready for regulatory compliance.

Connecting your Tesla takes under a minute through OAuth 2.0 PKCE authentication — you authenticate directly on Tesla's official portal at auth.tesla.com, and we never see or store your Tesla password. We request only the minimum permissions needed: openid for identity verification, offline_access for persistent connection, energy_device_data for charger detection, and vehicle_device_data for session verification. We do not request vehicle controls, climate control, or driving data.

BlitzVolt verifies that charging sessions happen at your registered home address using GPS geofence technology. When you set up your account, you enter your home location — either by address or by dropping a pin on a map. That location becomes the geofence center point. During each charging session, GPS coordinates from your Tesla are compared against this center using the Haversine distance calculation with a 100-meter radius. Sessions that fall within this boundary are automatically verified and credited.

This geofence verification is essential for two reasons. First, it ensures compliance with Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations, which require that carbon credits be tied to consistent, verifiable home charging data. The challenge is that generating credits under CFR requires registration as a Charging Network Operator with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), continuous compliance data collection and reporting, third-party verification, and annual audits. As a registered Charging Network Operator, BlitzVolt collects verified charging data from all members, aggregates it into compliance-grade credit portfolios, and sells those credits to fuel suppliers who need them for compliance. BlitzVolt supports three primary Tesla AC charging configurations for Canadian users:

Through Fleet Telemetry, your Tesla's Battery Management System serves as the accredited sub-meter regardless of which charger hardware you use. This means even Mobile Connector sessions produce verifiable, audit-ready energy data. The key requirement is that the session is a verified home charging session — tracked through the official Tesla Fleet API and confirmed within your geofence.

All rewards are tracked using integer points for maximum precision — no floating-point rounding errors. Every watt-hour is accounted for. Once the annual Q1 carbon credit audit is completed, your verified points become available for redemption. The Interac e-Transfer system is Canada's native electronic funds transfer network, ensuring fast, secure payouts directly to your bank account. Most transfers are processed within 1–3 business days.

Every kWh you charge at home displaces gasoline consumption, creating a measurable carbon reduction. BlitzVolt uses a displacement CO₂ offset rate of 0.404 kg per kWh — this represents the total lifecycle CO₂ avoided by driving electric instead of using a gasoline vehicle, accounting for Canada's national marginal grid emissions, transmission losses, and vehicle efficiency differences.
